EMPIRE LIVE: THE KEY TO THE REGENERATION OF LOCAL MUSIC IN THE SOUTH EAST

11081458_1590152271202534_6542371712480093397_nOn Tuesday, promoters announced that they would be working to establish a relationship with the Narre Warren club venue Empire Live in order to bring a new All Ages venue into play for the Melbourne scene. With Victoria’s legislation on licensing for venues in the CBD area, it has become increasingly difficult to establish venues that are both convenient to get to by public transport and allow All Ages shows to be held.

The now well-known Wrangler Studios in Victoria’s west, although a fantastic project that will only improve, cannot cope with the entire capacity for bands that want to play cheap shows to a consistent audience. Although other venues like OLP in Ringwood and Rubix Warehouse in Brunswick offer similar facilities, there is still no venue that offers anything for the overly active scene in Melbourne’s south east.
